Vancouver/1986.
This mural shows Lord Chaitanya getting all
the animals in the forest to dance together.
He's awakening a sleeping tiger!

When I moved out west to Vancouver B.C. in 1983, I painted the walls and ceiling of the Burnaby Hare Krishna temple on Marine Drive. It took about three months to complete. To this day I just basicly survive on my artwork. No handouts from the government, just good ol' dependence on the Lord's mercy.
In 1990 I finished the "All-Attractive Couple" painting which we published as limited edition lithos. That same year, Vancouver's Premier Vander Zalm received a nicely framed print from the Vancouver devotees.
I am exactly half a century old now as of this writing and now I think I'm finally able to understand Srila Prabhupada's words..."the painting...you have no end to it". After so many years of painting as my service to guru, I have become more and more dependent on his mercy and blissful with the idea of eternally serving him this way. And it sounds strange, but sometimes I feel like I could use more arms, maybe four or eight, to get all the artwork done that I want to do to please my spiritual master.

If any artists out there want to perfect their God-given talent, there is a whole world waiting for you in Krishna art in Krishna's temples globally.
Among all the styles I've used throughout the years, my canvas paintings have developed into a very meticulous technique that demands much time and patience of me. So I have been concentrating on these more than murals lately. And yet someday I may again climb a scaffold to begin another mural. Whatever happens from here on, Srila Prabhupada and his devoted followers will always be my guide and source of inspiration.

Yours in the service of the Lord
